Bassist Brian Quinn formed the Funk group bq in the Spring of 2013. After playing shows around Chicago since 2007, Brian was eager to hear more old-school Funk within the Chicago music scene. Once Brian gathered the funkiest players he knew from years of playing music around Chicago, he decided it was time to form a project designed to play the kind of raw, energetic, in-your-face Funk music that he's always loved. In July of 2013 bq played its first show, and they've been spreading the Funk around Chicago ever since.
